1. About this policy

This policy covers RunOutNow for Android and iOS, its supporting service and run-out-now.com. The Google Analytics described in section 7 is used only on the website. It does not collect activity from the native Android or iOS apps. For privacy requests and support, email support@run-out-now.com.

2. Data and its uses

Your email is used for sign-in codes and is optional when you subscribe as a guest. App installation and account identifiers support sign-in, synchronization and personalization. Google Play or Apple purchase identifiers and subscription status let us verify purchases, restore access and prevent duplicate claims. We do not receive full payment-card details from these stores.

If you subscribe without signing in, the app creates an account without requesting your email or name. Settings shows an account code. Our service links that account to the store purchase and subscription status. Its run journal and clothing profile are synchronized when those features are used. You can add an email or delete the account in Settings.

Your selected city, place searches, map selections and, with your permission, device location are used for weather, place names and run planning. Android can send approximate or precise coordinates according to your permission choice. Coordinates are sent to our weather service and to place-name services when needed. Signed-in weather and planning requests can be associated with your account. The app does not record GPS running routes or collect new device locations in the background. Home-screen widgets use a previously selected or saved location.

The weather widget on run-out-now.com works without an account and requests weather only after you open it. If you choose your location, your browser asks for permission first, and the position is rounded to a grid of a few kilometers before it is saved or sent. You can also search for a city or pick a point on a map. The chosen place is saved in your browser, is not linked to the app or an account, and is removed when you clear website data.

Your selected clothing profile, pace, run start and end times, duration, weather and outfit context, and comfort feedback, including body areas you select, support your run journal and personalized clothing recommendations. An installation identifier helps synchronize changes across devices. Settings, forecasts, plans and journal data are also stored on your device. RunOutNow does not read Health Connect, medical records or heart-rate sensors.

IP addresses, request and error information support operation and security. Aggregate statistics help us understand service use. We process messages to provide support.

3. Data sharing

Our supporting service uses Open-Meteo for weather and city search. On Android, Nominatim, operated by the OpenStreetMap Foundation, receives coordinates to look up place names, and OpenFreeMap receives requests for map areas you view. These direct requests also disclose your IP address and ordinary request information to those providers. On iOS, Apple provides place-name lookup. In the website widget, your browser contacts map and place-name providers directly. Email delivery providers receive your address and sign-in message. Google Play or Apple processes store purchases. Hosting and storage providers support the service.

Data may be processed outside your country. We do not sell it or share it for advertising. Disclosure may be required by law or to protect legal rights and service security.

4. Retention and deletion

We retain account data while your account exists. You can delete individual runs in the journal. Delete account in Settings removes your email, profile, synchronized runs, sessions and account access, and clears the account’s local journal. You can also request account deletion without installing the app through run-out-now.com/delete-account/. Signing out alone normally does not delete your account or all saved data.

Purchase records remain for payment verification, refunds and preventing duplicate claims; no fixed deletion period currently applies. Links to the deleted account are removed, but records are not fully anonymous. Technical records and backups may remain separately.

Deleting your account or uninstalling the app does not cancel a Google Play or Apple subscription. Cancel renewal with the store that bills you to stop future charges. Deletion does not restore the old account or its journal. An eligible active purchase may be linked to a fresh guest account only after you explicitly confirm this in Restore purchases; this does not recover deleted data.

5. Your choices and rights

Forecasts work without an account. You can choose a city manually and revoke location or notification permission in your device settings. Signed-out runs remain on your device; an eligible recent run may transfer to your account at sign-in. Notifications remind you to rate a run and can be disabled in device settings.

Legal bases are providing the service, legal obligations, legitimate interests in operation and security, and consent where required. Subject to applicable law, request access, a copy, correction or deletion, restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, or contact a data protection authority. Email support@run-out-now.com; account verification may be required.

6. Protection and updates

We use encrypted connections, protected sign-in storage and access controls. Policy changes appear with a revised date; the text is available in Settings.

7. Website analytics and your choice

We use Google Analytics on run-out-now.com, with your consent, to understand how people find the website, which pages they read, and whether they follow links to the App Store or Google Play. This helps us improve the website and evaluate its audience growth. This analytics setup is separate from the RunOutNow apps, accounts, run journals, and the weather widget's selected location.

If you accept analytics, Google receives website usage information such as page visits, referring sources, browser and device information, general location derived from your IP address, scrolling, and clicks on external links. Supported embedded videos may also report playback and viewing progress. Google receives your IP address as part of the network connection. Analytics cookies distinguish browser visits and sessions. We do not enable Google signals or personalized advertising for this setup.

Analytics is off until you accept it. Choosing Reject analytics keeps the Google Analytics tag blocked. You can use the website and its weather widget without accepting analytics. Your choice is saved in this browser for up to 180 days; ordinary visits do not extend that period. Clearing website data may remove your choice. Browser privacy signals can also keep analytics disabled.

Google Analytics cookies are set with a lifetime of 180 days. Some cookie expiry dates may be refreshed as you use the website. Analytics remains subject to your separate consent choice, which expires after 180 days unless you make a new choice. Your browser may remove cookies sooner.

You can open Privacy settings in the website footer to change your choice or withdraw consent. Withdrawal stops further website analytics collection and removes the website's Google Analytics cookies. It does not automatically erase information already received by Google. For an access or deletion request, email support@run-out-now.com. We may need information that lets us locate the relevant records. Withdrawal does not affect processing based on consent before you withdrew it.

We configure Google Analytics to retain user and event data for 14 months, with the option to restart user data retention after new activity turned off. Google deletes data reaching that limit through its scheduled deletion process. This setting does not apply to standard aggregated reports, which may remain available for longer.

Google and its service providers may process analytics information outside your country, in countries where they maintain facilities.
